CHOOSE 1 (ONE) ARTWORK OR PERFORMANCE FROM AN INDIGENOUS ARTIST OF YOUR CHOICE.
IDENTIFY THE SELECTED ARTWORK (TITLE, ARTIST, TYPE OF ART, YEAR OF PRODUCTION)
WRITE A CRITIQUE EXPLAINING THE PIECE OF ART AND WHY YOU CHOSE IT. CRITIQUE MUST BE IN FRENCH FOR 410, 402 & 501
IN YOUR CRITIQUE, INCLUDE A REFERENCE TO AT LEAST ONE ELEMENT AND\OR PRINCIPAL OF ART
ABOUT MEDIA ARTS
Media Arts is a Secondary 4 & 5 Arts program created to address the Ministère d'éducation et de l'enseignement supérieur (MEES) and Cree School Board (CSB) requirements in order to obtain the necessary Art credits towards secondary school graduation.
This cycle two curriculum engages students in making media related artworks, and by exposing learners to current media-related issues while placing specific attention on indigenous artists and artworks. Students are encouraged to reflect, offer insight, and express their creativity by using widely available audio-visual tools.

My approach to learning and teaching has become a perpetual exploratory process that propels independent thinking and encourages everyone to create confidently, and beyond the proverbial box.
Artistic expression in education, has that ability to cultivate curiosity and open up limitless possibilities for diverse learners. For me, these are articulated, studied, and derived from real-world experiences into a raison d’être.
As an educator, I operate from a cosmopolitan perspective and encourage equitable commentary to create a kind classroom space, with a potential to inspire youthful energy into identity-forming pathways.
